Hi Scott, That makes sense. But oddly, even when I saved a book in FM9, it opened again in the default place. Unfortunately, I cannot try it again because by trial version just expired. I have ordered a trial version of TCS2. We'll be upgrading at work eventually, especailly if they ahve fixed the graphics bug (the one that prevents anchored graphics in tables from being converted to RH) and I'll have to wait until it arrives.
What I'd really like to see is that FM9 would read the properties of the files when it opens an FM8 file and use them, instead of requiring users to reset and save them in FM9 to store the properties. Re: Thumbs down: FrameMaker 9 Welcome Screen) Actually it *is* FM that saves the book window position and size. This info is stored in the book file itself, but isn't saved unless you actually make a change to the book file which requires that it be updated. Just moving and resizing the book won't require a save, but if you move and/or resize, and also add/delete a file or change the property of a book component .. then you can save the book and the next time you open it it will appear that the new location. ...scott Diane Gaskill wrote: > That's strange, Mike.
