It works on Windows, but when you hit CTRL-C you get into a weird
state where you're asked if you want to exit the batch file or some

Yep, I haven't been able to figure out why exactly that happens. I usually just hit Ctrl-C twice.

There is probably some problem with the way the subprocess is started, which behaves differently on Windows compared to *nix.
