i have said it before, but repeat it anyway:

there is not much sense to develop DOS software ON DOS. Software FOR DOS is 
many times easier crossdeveloped in a windows/linux
environment, and even debugged in a 32 bit Windows console environent or 
"DosBox".

however if you are so devoted to program ON DOS ten you should be ale to 
download and copy the compiler
yourself. you are a programmer!

and there are so many more compilers/interpreters/AWK/SED/.... available then 
would ever fir on any medium.

however it might be cool to have the tools necessary to regenerate freedos 
itself as present on te CD.
imo thats  watcom C, NASM and UPX. nothing depends on any dialect of BASIC.
