It would be worth explicitly stating the reasons AI is forbidden. It is kind of odd for an 'open' project to exclude something without being able to articulate why. For technical reasons, solutions may arise. For example, at the 1991 ARRL Computer Networking Conference, I presented a paper on a software emulation of a hardware TNC (ham radio terminal node controller) for the Mac Plus. When I uploaded the SoftKiss software to the CompUServ ham radio forum library, they had a notice that each package had its own copyright, but that collection as a whole was Copyright CompUServe. I haven't seen the copyright as a collection (of commits) tried as a solution to the United States can't copyright AI issue.
Given the level of AI hate, having an AI flag on packages so people can know what they are getting and get what they want would be good. Is one AI flag enough?
