Jaz diskettes are 1 and 2 _Gb_, I think, this is sufficient to format
as FAT32 (especially because FAT16 cluster size on such volumes is too
high).
Also, let me comment Iomega' staff words: "Iomega doesn't support"
(may) only mean, that they not implement (nor will?) FAT32 support. "Nor
recommend" is only recomendation, not prohibition for FAT32 usage.

On <512Mb volumes FAT16 cluste size is <8k, so, FAT16 may/will more
effective on such volumes, than FAT32. At least, because smaller FAT size.
So, suggestion is valid, though, this is not prohibition.

You mean, that you format Zip diskette as FAT32 under FreeDOS (and then
FreeDOS incorrectly works with this diskette)? Which kernel version? Which
formatting program? Do you try the FORMAT from Eric Auer?
