While MKEYB is small, there's a lot of things it doesn't do that the larger KEYB program does that you may find you need or at least be useful.
One of them is the manipulation and correct handling of different Code Pages as Aitor indicated. Another one is that MKEYB doesn't report itself correctly as a "standard" keyboard driver to other programs which can cause some compatibility problems.
