So would it be possible (assuming it is not already done) to define some roles
with responsibilities that need be filled? Then perhaps using that information
ask for volunteers? I would suggest defining these roles in a fashion that
would allow the community participants to commit to a release to help avoid
from asking someone to commit to a non-paying second job ;)

I personally like the product and would like to contribute to it. I am working
on some smartcard support now, and would be willing offer some of my free time
to help out the release cycle.

Hi Otavio,

I understand the lack of a proper release cycle is an issue, but to solve this
I really need the help of the community. We've got a lot of people doing an
amazing job fixing bugs and backporting fixes to the stable-1.1 branch. The
problem is that working on the release and fixing bugs often falls within the
spare time of the developers and most of us are really busy these days.
Bernhard from Thinstuff has been doing an incredible amount of work in that
regard on top of what he's already doing, and without him the situation would
be much worse. The stable-1.1 branch is actually good, all that's lacking is
someone taking the time to make a new beta out of it. Simply put, we need more
help with that, since we're working with very limited resources.

Best regards,
- Marc-Andre
