golly for me, this is a indication you are doing something wrong .
(yes yes I accept that it is easy for me to be an armchair critic) I would say that 5 to 6% on ONE Core--grade CPU would be the acceptable limit for something like this. I mean, seriously... David, something is spinning not as you intend it. or are you smashing the cache ?
