I've followed some instructions on the xine website and am using the emu10k1 driver source from sourceforge. (via opensource.creative.com)
I've changed to emu10k1.conf file to enable AC3 passthrough and the SPDIF output. The SPDIF output will only do PCM so far.
I'm not currently using the SPDIF cable from the DVDROM to the soundcard, is this a problem?
I've also enabled AC3/AC5 passthru in Xine but still no luck. Any help appreciated.
