No but it's a consideration. From what I'm reading at the moment support 
for the common inbuilt intel graphics is getting a lot better. I don't 
have any need for a gaming graphics card but if someone can recommend a 
very cheap dvi/hdmi nvidia I've no objection. might be nice to show off 
the odd game.

I've got my htpc hooked up to an old Audiolab 8000A stereo amp and a 
Sony surround amp neither of which have spdif connections so at the 
moment it's running from through a 3.5" mini-jack to phono. The Audiolab 
still gives great sound for mp3/cd listening but it might be time to 
upgrade those soon (when funds permit). As surround sound isn't as high 
on my list of priorities as good stereo sound I might stick with what 
I've got and look into the maudio cards.
