Marcus-

I’m intrigued by the possibility of having the whole “game” come crashing down.

It is miserable how the economy locks people into one area of specialty.

Take away that “mastery” what is left of a person?  Let’s find out.

As a boomer who grew up on the periphery of the shadow of MAD and Nuclear Annihilation, I'm more fascinated by less abrupt versions:

Love William Gibson's use of the term "Jackpot" to describe a slow
but unequivocal "slumping" of the game (Jackpot Series)

Also Johnathan Letham's use of "the Arrest" for a similarly styled
apocalyptic transition...  a long, slow spin-out of everything.

As an alternative (probably out of reach) Jean-Marc Janovici's Graphic Novel World without End <https://www.google.com/books/edition/World_Without_End/yVwBEQAAQBAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&printsec=frontcover> and his emphasis on the distinction between /poverte/ and /sobriete/ and it's implication for our collective (post?)industrial future. sobriete-vs-poverty <https://natehagens.substack.com/p/sobriete-vs-poverty-preparing-for>

Yeah; I don’t think it’s right that we get dealt out of our own game.
