I think about one commit.  I am not sure why you use word "huge":
in 'src/algebra' subdirectory besides 'texmacs.spad.pamphlet' there
are 4 tiny hunks.  In 'src/interp' there is 6 hunks totaling in about
200 lines.  And few lines in 'src/etc'.  Unless I misses some
other parts I would rather call it 'moderate'.  And all those
hunks strongly depend on each other and serve single purpose.
