I think that you vastly underestimate HyperDoc. Namely, part included
in FRICASsys is designed to support dynamic GUI with rich user
interaction. We miss important part of this (Texexplorer renderer),
but _all_ (or maybe almost all as some Texexplorer specific parts
are removed) that is needed in FRICASsys is already present.

I think you underestimate fact that HyperDoc machinery dynamically
creates rich cross-links (only part of them is used by HyperDoc
interface). I did not see Texexplorer in action, but code
suggest that you can click on parts of displayed results to
get extra type info (and mybe also documentation links).
To re-create such functionalty you would need either use exiting
HyperDoc support or implement equivalent in your interface. Clearly
duplicating such things in each interace is wasteful, so
I would prefer to use shared functionality.

Concerning "start an X programm", I very much prefer to start
small X program (HyperDoc) to a bloated one (web browser).
In fact, for getting things from web I normally use lynx or wget
and start graphical browser only once in few days.
