It shouldn't kill your current work.. As far as i can tell, AS2 isn't so
much different from AS1 as it is a few more features on top of AS1 -
your code should work fine. The layout is pretty similar, although nicer
to look at. That said, if there's no real need for MX04Pro the cost of
it would be what held me back from upgrading for a while.
I've got MX and MX04 on my machine, and they don't interfere with each
other,

Subject: [fugli] MX '04 & an MX project

Hi all,

I'm in the midst of working on a rather large FMX project, and I was
wondering if it will be worth my while installing MX '04 Pro.

I'm slightly worried that the new features may break my existing code,
or
learning a new environment may impact my current work.

I'd imagine authouring in MX '04 & exporting as Flash 6 w/ AS1 would
keep
everything working nicely, and if I don't use any of the new components
it
should be okay (does exporting the new stuff as AS1 actually work?).

Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Also, is it possible to run MX & MX '04 side by side? that would
probably be
the easiest option.
