With all this talk about Flash Employment I have to do some shameless
site promotion: if you haven't seen it yet, check out ActionScript.org's
new Employment Section at http://www.actionscript.org/employment/ .
Comments welcome.

James,

Don't laugh! I've seriously seen (and applied for) job adverts like
that. I rocked up to an interview and said "I know PHP and could
probably code CFML, ASP, JSP and others, but you're never going to find
anyone who knows them all!"

I got the job too :)

Its like a rainfall of idiots.

lmao

Think I'm being to harsh, read some of the adverts? "4 years Flash MX

experience" was one i read ages ago. I sat back and went, you frekin
moron its not even 4years old. You also get the usual "Must have ASP /

CFMX experience" typically they are on opposite sides of the skillset.

You find out its actually an ASP job, that has nothing to do with CFMX

at all.

how about "Web Designer required with extensive database programming
skills.." or "We need a
programmer that has 4 years experience using PHP, ASP, CF, Java, JS, VB,
C, JSP, Perl, Ruby, Python,
.net, .com and .org etc etc

The Hays Personnel salary guide classes PHP and CF as a front end web
development... hmmmm.

<script type="text/php"> ???
