I'd reccommend an object oriented language like java. Not only might it be
useful in the future it will give you better core theory of programming.

I graduated college with a computer science degree and find that after
learning c++ and java that picking up other languages is fairly easy. Cold
Fusion was a snap. I also think it'll help you code better. I know CF
developers who've only ever programmed in CF and they sometimes have logic
problems that they would have probably learned with c/c++/java etc.

Maybe, but it doesn't help when you're looking for work, otherwise ASP
programmers would be hired to do CF work, and vice versa. And that typically
doesn't happen in the real world (at least not that I've seen). So learning
PHP, or VBScript when you already know CF shouldn't be considered a waste of
time. (Learning ASP/JScript, on the other hand, should almost always be
considered a waste of time. =:) )

Somebody earlier mentioned learning database stuff. That's a good direction
to head if you're not already fluent in SQL.
