In my Computer Science degree we were lucky enough to spend a few weeks
looking at the evolution of languages. It was mainly looking @ C, C++ Java
and effects of colbol, sql etc.
We also had a quick look at how open source is different and how php evolves
between version numbers.
(Getting to the point) I do not really see XFB as an extension to fusebox,
not because I am against it (or because I do not fully understand it) I just
think that it is more fb with knobs on that fb the sequel.

I had no idea evangelism was your thing LB. I think we need to move forward
in extending FB in bigger and better ways but keep one foot firmly planted
to make sure everything is deprecated, not destroyed. At the same time we
can help to get the word out to other development environments. Standard FB
(which these days seems to mean From Book) is our basis, XFB is our
add-on...or at least that is how I see it.

Look,
Stan as ever makes a great point. Why are we thinking of moving to XFB when
we haven't even migrated standard FuseBox to ASP, PHP and GeoCities? Surely
we should be spreading FB as a general philosophy throughout the entire
world of high-level web development, before we begin over-refining it for
just one environment.
