Almost all of my testing has been on the 'insides' of CF. I can tell you
which evaluation of a Boolean is better, how loops work in CFSCRIPT and why
CFLOOP is better than CFOUTPUT in some situations. I really haven't done a
lot of application level speed tests.
Also, the basis of Fusebox was to take best practices and put them into use.
Since then a lot has changed as to what best practices are and we need to
look at them again. One major best practice that WILL change is that many
(most in my opinion) custom tags will be turned into UDF. Actually a lot of
custom tags used today such as CF_FORMURL2ATTRIBUTES should be includes.
I've been compiling all my best practice info from past articles and testing
them. I'll be posting these tests with results and test code to issues of
Fusion Authority for others to see and test themselves. I welcome others to
say what they think, heard or believe are best practices so they can be
tested to see if they actually are.
