I'm not Alan but I can tell you something about the new Verity bundled
with CF5. They're now using the latest VDK that supports Office 2000
document formats. Verity K2 Server is also included. K2 Server is a
dedicated server process that can handle much more concurrent searches
than current solution, and I think it has also some kind of intelligent
caching feature built in. Verity can now index up to 500,000 pages
(250,000 in CF 5 Professional). The International Language Packs come
bundled now, so you don't have to buy them separately. Verity Spidering is
also available (but is limited to spidering only one domain I believe). Oh
and you can now share your search server, so that you can have a dedicated
CF server in a cluster for indexing and searching only and all the other
servers use this one for searching.
