The the details of the development of the conflict in the Middle East
and of the origins of Israel may not be buried as deeply as the truth
(whatever it may be) about the Kennedy assassination or 9/11 but but
is even more deeply buried in the murk of partisan rhetoric and slanted
(if putatively factual) accounts.
For those of us who have not already made a years-long study of the
subject, convincing and verifiable enlightenment is not going to
emerge from an exchange here unless well-informed participants are
prepared to devote to it the effort equivalent to writing a historical
monograph. And only then, if the rest of us are prepared to read,
cross-reference and verify such writing.
