This is just part of the absolute nonsense that surrounds unimportant differences in complexion. How these people in universities can waste their time on this is beyond belief.
Academe would be put to better use if they taught their students plumbing, or something else equally useful.
On the other hand....
THere is an old New Yorker cartoon which shows a plumber walking up the stairs from a basement that is under at least a foot of water and all the pipes are bursting, and the plumber is thinking:

But I do agree that most of what a place like Harvard University teaches is really just training, so that the institution should be renamed:
Harvard Tech
On the other hand, the MIT University Press is one of the premier publishers of contemporary European humanities books in translation (people like Hans Blumenberg...) and phenomenological philosophy texts. Go figure....
