Has anyone thought of calling them and trying to talk to someone with a
brain on their support line? (I know it can be a challenge to talk to
someone who knows more than is in the database) I called Rogers@home here
in Ontario and was told by management that there are no plans to impliment a
policy change like this. He agreed with me that it would not be a good
change and that it would hurt them more than help them. They know we have
dozens of accounts in the Kitchener/Guelph area alone that would be
instantly cancelled if they did this. I was told that this is a very common
use of the system.

C'mon, if they are so concerned about bandwidth being wasted, they would
enforce some sort of Bandwidth cap. The @Work service is for people that
need a static IP address and are running servers connected to the
cablemodem. They will not be driving corporate end-users away that are just
trying to connect to their office lan to check their email. If anything, I
can see them trying to ban things like Napster.

I think that comcast will have to clarify their TOS as I have read it and
found it to be very vague and probably would not hold up in court. The fact
that it is in the section dealing with people running servers at home..
Many users would not even read that section as they are not running servers
at home.

With competition being as fierce as it is, I can't see them trying to
alienate any users... especially corporate users that generally pay their
bills and don't call for tech support because they can't get their daily fix
of p0rn.
