While this in only my experiences, out of the 10 or so iBook G4 I have rebuilt or are in the process of rebuilding, only 1 might have the BGA issue. The more common issue is the much easier to fix U28 problem. Thats small consolation to those who dont want to dig into the guts of an iBook though. >The 15/17in Als are pretty good and reliable, I've also seen some MLB >issues with the 1.67 DL models. The 17" Al is a pretty easy teardown, I have to admit. The Ti books are a pain in the ass to remove the motherboard though - that 4 pin molex is a bear ! >If you are likely to do any upgrades yourself to HD or Optical drive, >steer clear of the 12in PBs, far harder to work on than ANY iBook. That bad ? I never tore one down, but I have a hard time imagining something worse than an iBook. thanks, Mad Dog --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to Low End Mac's G-Books list, a group for those using G3 iBooks and PowerBooks (we run a separate list for G4 'Books).
