I would personally stay away from iBooks, both G3 and G4. They have a high 
failure rate, something I can vouch for.

I would go for an early PowerBook G4. You get the professional edge of the 
PowerBook, a large widescreen.

If you are upgrading from a Pismo go for a 550Mhz G4 PowerBook or up. A 
Titanium would suit your needs.
