Dead Ethernet card? Without more details about how long you've had
the iBook, if the Ethernet ever worked before, what other kinds of
research and/or equipment testing you've already done on your own,
etc., etc., etc., it's pretty hard to say.

Sigh. I have a buggy Ethernet connection on my IBM ThinkPad, the
source of which I have learned is likely a known weakness of that
particular model (the rear USB port and Ethernet port are together on
a card that generally did not get enough solder to keep it in place;
the USB port is buggy, too). Is the jack on your iBook loose or
wobbly? For that matter, did you check your Network software to see
if the Ethernet port is on?

As I said, etc., etc.
