Well I can vouch for that. PowerBook G3s handle much better than iMac G3s of 
the same spec.

I have both and will run XBench on them both.

In my humble experience, a 333Mhz Lombard with 128Mb of memory runs
circles around a 333Mhz flavor iMac with 256Mb of RAM, be it in OS 9
or Panther. I cannot fathom why, either.

It would be interesting to see those Xbench results...
