You have received excellent advice so far, so I have very little to
add.

I agree that Tiger is essentially the fastest OS X flavor you can
install in that hardware. It should run pretty decent with the RAM you
have, although for best results you should max it out to 640Mb.

I can guarantee that the tips you have already received will improve
your Internet video experience. For overall optimization, you can add
a couple tweaks, i.e. disabling Dashboard (http://www.macworld.com/
article/46236/2005/08/disabledashboard.html), and using ShadowKiller
(freeware) to lighten up your graphics.

But keep in mind that you're making the most of a G3 processor and an
8Mb video card, so don't expect miracles. That said, the little
icebook is one sweet computer to carry around, light and mighty useful
despite its age and limitations.
