I can echo Bruce's point.  I was using an Orinoco card that worked OK
with an IOxpert software, but I had to configure the Wifi connection
almost every time I booted up.  It was an annoying as hell.  If you
can find a third party card that will play nice with the OS Airport
software it would be a lot better (maybe you can still do this with
your existing card).  The only reason I can see to use a third party
card is if it operates at Wifi G rather than B.  BTW I'm using the
open PC slot for a USB 2.0 card.  These are cheap and SO much faster
than the built-in USB ports.  Just a thought.
