Closest to an alternate AC I've ever seen on some
classic books was a power supply that slipped into
the battery bay of....the 500 series?....and
allowed you to power the machine that way.  I also never have seen a
power port on the bottom of a 'book. (tho I admit I've never seen all
models that were produced.  :) )
