Hi Jane, It really depends on where you look. I have seen MacBooks in the $500 to $600 range on ebay. You can get a very nice G4 1.67GHz Hi-Res PowerBook within that range or less as well. It will run 10.5 no problem. Look for one with maxed out RAM and any other extras you can get. Best of luck in your search.
