I used a tiBook myself, DVI 667mhz -- wow, had no idea Leopard could support
the 802.11b Airport card; should have figured it would..

Just wondering, why not use an g cardbus card with your tiBook?? I use of the
cards that Airport can operate with - Bufallo WLI-CB-54G.? It does take up the
cardbus slot of course...

---------------

As far as "children w/ laptops," my 14-year old son and?9 year old daughter
both have G3 iBooks; about to move them up to G4s.? (my 5 year old daughter
rocks the limey Clamshell w/ a matching limey?bag for it -- so kewl!)???? :'-)

Ahem! Anyway....

Daddy's still uses ancient stuff, so I guess it follows they do to, but I would
think a g4 Powerbook or iBook would be fine.? And, I would personally feel alot
better if an iBook was "left in the library accidentally" or "got wet when
Mikey skipped his soda" than a MacBook! ;-)

My laptop is a 1GHz TiBook running 10.5 and I'm quite pleased with
it's performance. It's starting to show its age, though, particularly
since it only has the old original Airport in it.

An Al Powerbook would suit them quite well, since they're faster, have
faster buses, and have the Airport Express for WiFi. You should be
able to find lots of 'em in that price range.

Also, as someone else mentioned, look on Fleabay: Core Duo MacBooks
(the originals) are coming down to that price range as well...those
would be a lot more future-proof than a Powerbook.
