My Beige G3 boots from a 76 gig partition. I created a 1 gig
partition for OS 9, installed 9.2.2 and XPF on the 1 gig partition,
then selected the OS 9 partition as the helper drive in XPF. I then
installed 10.4 on the bigger partition and it runs great. Although
XPF has to be run in 10.4 every so often to sync the extensions
(usually after an update or install that affects system files), this
is only a minor dalliance and XPF will let you know when it has to be
run to do so.
