low cost but firewire built-in, maxing RAM you can run natively both 9 
or 8 and Tiger, the latter is necessary for web related applications 
(otherwise you can stick even to MACOS 8 or 9!)
Pretty and not so heavy as powerbook G3.
Airport ready or any wifi key supporting OSX you can even install a 
internet hspda key
I guess you can buy for 150 to 200 usd
I have the 12" and I'm so happy also if is a bit slow (500 Mhz, but is 
the older iBook white, if I'm not wrong the last is 900Mhz)
With firewire you are comfortable with external HD or DVD drive, if you 
don't find a combo drive, or connect to your eMac with firewire. I have 
also a Wallstreet 266, but is slow with Panther even maxing RAM to 512MB
