How is this printer being attached to the computer? USB or Serial?
Serial has little chance of working under OS X, but should be okay
under 8.x and 9.x - so long as you have set the printer port up
correctly.
If it is USB, is it using a direct USB connection or a USB to parallel
converter? I have found that USB to Parallel can be extremely flakey. I
have an old Apple Laserwriter Select 360 that sometimes works using USB
to parallel, but often doesn't. Also, USB-wise, are you sure the card
is working, if using a hub, is the hub powered or unpowered and what
other devices are connected? This can greatly affect the USB
reliability.
I always LOl when you post about "Wally" or "Wallies" as this has a
different meaning in British English - a "Wally" is an idiot or a
foolish individual. Maybe you're Wallstreet is British and has taken
offence? Hahaha!

I'm only concerned about using the Epson Stylus 600 with OS8.6 and I'm
using the serial port as that's what the Wallstreet's have stock. The
printer always worked on this machine. I haven't used it for about 6
mos.
It prints a test page but refuses to accept the driver when selected
in the chooser. My HP 870 Cse works properly' I think maybe something
went wrong when it was sitting idle. One thing I've noticed is the
printer use to take a while to initialize when it was working (PITA)
but it no longer seems to do that.
I guess if I can't get it going I'll have to troll ebay for a
replacement?
As for the nick names of my machines, some members snark at me a little
but I'm happy glad to get a laugh, I have 26 kids all named mac so I
need to keep them separate LOL:-)
