The Epson used to work on this machine with OS 8.6, the only change
I've made is I installed a 300MHz motherboard in place of the 233

printer either.

To me this means the printer has something wrong with it. possibly the
serial port has become bad. No way to tell if the parallel is good w/
out hooking it up to something.

The Epson printers have always been a PITA for me, but this was my
son's first printer and we have to keep it up as long as it still
prints a test page.

The serial port really slows down even a 14 years old printer like
this one. Maybe a usb card for the wally too...

Do you know of an adapter that actually works from serial to USB? all I ever tried never have. The thing I don't get is it worked on 8.6 before.

I meant get a usb pc-card adapter for the wally and a parallel usb
adapter for the 600.

If you want to come up to SanFrancisco I'll let you try my adapter
with your printer and your printer with my wally.

I have a USB card for my Wally so today I'll try to pickup a cable at Fry's to try. What OS and driver are you using? I have OS 8.6 OS 9.2.2 and OS 10.4.11 on my machine. If my shop was doing better a trip to Frisco could be written of as office expense. But the accountant would accuse me of playing with my toys.LOL

I just got a USB To Parallel cable and the printer still says I haven't selected the Epson driver over and over again. I need to know the exact steps to get it going I'm using OS8.6
