Hoping this catches you in your 1 hour at the library.
PDF and JPG should get though OK. However, why not try compressing other
filetypes into zip format before sending them. Alternatively, you could
drop them onto my iDisk if the library PCs will allow this. (Email me at
[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> if you need a 'how-to'.)
If your old photoshop files are in TIFF or JPEG (or even EPS) format,
they'll open in newer versions of photoshop. TIFF, etc, are
cross-platform standards. Photoshop's always been able to open a large
range of graphics formats. And if you have no luck with that, use
GraphicsConverter (from http://www.lemkesoft.com/). It will open just
about any graphics file, and allow you to save it as just about any
other format. It also has a number of graphics editing tools. It's not
free but it's much cheaper than a brand-new copy of photoshop.
However, I thought you were most concerned about your Freehand files.
I'm still happy to see if I can retrieve those for you, as well as
trying to open Photoshop files.
Bruce, you're such a gentleman. Things like these solidify that here we
have a caring community.
