Unless the drive died along with the motherboard, then you can use something 
like this:
<http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=2020&cpc=SCH> will let you recover the 
data off of the hard drive even if the rest of the computer is kaput.

This is a VERY useful tool to have; we've had this exact model in our office 
for about three years now, and it sees use weekly. It'll work with virtually 
any drive.

All I can tell you is that there as no current/power at all in the G-4..no it 
was not just a matter of not booting up- there was
 NOTHING--that was when they said they could not transfer..but the tech said if 
i still wanted to try, I ought to take it home and eventually get another G-4 
and try transferring the hard drive to see....For now I just wait...need to fix 
the Wallstreet  and get into Quark first- if I can.


Another big thank you- I need to bookmark (man -it took the dial up about 15 
minuts to open the Geek page....
