I agree that the iBooks (and the plastic MacBooks) need to be handled
thoughtfully, and they should be fine.  Considering I still have a running
PowerBook 1400 and a running Lombard, I'm leery of Apple's white plastic
laptops.  I've just seen so many of these fail, mine and friends.  That
said, the TiBook that I bought to replace the iBook was relegated to desktop
duty, because of screen hinge failure.  They're portable, but don't be lazy
about handling them.
