OK, I was absolutely shocked today when UPS shows up at my front door (this has got to be the first Saturday UPS delivery in the history of our town) with my iPad. Anyway, down to business. I love this thing. It was worth every penny I paid for it. It's way lighter than the Pismo, can do everything (save upload files to Dropbox) it can do, and then some, and it works great with this Apple Wireless Keyboard. I've got Pages, and it works very nicely. The only trouble I've had is when it occasionally misplaces my cursor when I'm trying to put it in a particular place, but that happens so rarely (it's more accurate than I ever imagined) that I can't really call it a con. Flash… none whatsoever. Boo-hoo. Now, pick up the pieces of your shattered life and make them into a slideshow. I really didn't notice the absence of flash until I hit my college's home page, which has a huge flash banner across the top. Didn't really do anything other than look pretty, and I'm still so dazed by the fact that I took my online test by *touching the answers* that I don't really care (Javascript is fully supported, which made me a very happy camper). The speaker… it's a great continuation of Apple's audio standards—my Pismo blows these little PC speakers away, and our Apple Pro speakers with our iMac put every other *standard* PC speakers to shame (big audio equipment excluded). The iPad's speaker actually makes the unit rumble a bit at full volume on a song with some moderate bass and drums. Other than the weird mono-directional sound it has, it works great. Battery life… exactly as described. This thing has been on since 11 AM (not active the whole time, though) and it's still got 54% left at 10:12 PM. It's going to hit 10 hours for sure. The virtual keyboard doesn't take much getting used to… it's very natural for short emails and searching—I still prefer my AWK for long compositions (like this). Well, I was just about to complain about something, but I just figured it out. To scroll inside a browser window (like trying to scroll through Bing or something), just do a two-finger scroll. Nice.
