Hi all,

Bruce - sound advice. Thank you. I'll do what I can to back things up.
Luckily, almost everything is already backed up. The only thing I'd
lose would be emails and some other less than dire info.

If I can grab the edge of a window and fling it up into the upper left
corner of the screen, I can actually get it to completely function. I
even ran an onyx basic check. I can open programs. I can put it to
sleep and wake it up. Everything behaves - minus the large portion of
the screen being dead. I will try to hook it up to an external if at
all possible - but my hopes are high that the rest is okay.

Also - was offered a replacement screen and top case for $25 plus
shipping, including directions for how to fix it, and the appropriate
tool. Granted, it may be difficult, but I'm gonna try.

That cat isn't on my list of favorite creatures.
