Hi all, Bruce - sound advice. Thank you. I'll do what I can to back things up. Luckily, almost everything is already backed up. The only thing I'd lose would be emails and some other less than dire info.
If I can grab the edge of a window and fling it up into the upper left corner of the screen, I can actually get it to completely function. I even ran an onyx basic check. I can open programs. I can put it to sleep and wake it up. Everything behaves - minus the large portion of the screen being dead. I will try to hook it up to an external if at all possible - but my hopes are high that the rest is okay. Also - was offered a replacement screen and top case for $25 plus shipping, including directions for how to fix it, and the appropriate tool. Granted, it may be difficult, but I'm gonna try.
