IIRC, only the base (read: least expensive) Macbook, and the Macbook AIr lack a firewire port--all the rest do. However, what HAS been dropped is firewire 400 support--the Macbooks that have firewire only have 800 ports. (I picked up off of ebay an 800 to 400 firewire cable to use with an older drive--so far no problems using it.)
