Sorry, only just saw this conversation was happening. My first attempt to do 
Pismo surgery had me panicking when it wouldn't boot. Issue was the the 
processor hadn't clicked home. If yours is like mine (photos of Pismo internals 
on request), it'll need quite a bit of finger-force to get the processor sat 
home.

But before that, wait 5 minutes withe power cable connected. I left my Pismo 
alone for 6 months when travelling. I thought I'd borked it but it was just 
that the battery needed some charge before it would let the rest of the system 
boot.
