Does anyone still use OS9? I am about to triple boot and once up and running I am going to see about reviving OS9 and using it properly, not just having it sitting there.
I tried this a couple of years ago and it was still pretty usable. There are still a handful of apps still developed for OS9 and even a Mozilla based browser still in development. A lot of the older software - like Office and Photoshop - still work with todays standards, and blisteringly fast on quite old hardware. OS9 on a mid range G4 flies and is exceptionally fast on a G3. It's not that I dont like OSX, it is an amazing OS, but I love older hardware as you know. I love pushing beyond what most people would and getting the most of out of hardware, OS and software. -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Books, a group for those using G3 iBooks and PowerBooks (we run a separate list for G4 'Books).
