My old Macs constantly amaze people. It is not uncommon for iMacs, iBooks, 
PowerBooks, and Power Macs that are G3 and above to be working everyday. The 
return on your investment can be measured well beyond the expiration of most 
PCs. Since 1998 I have had the pleasure of their company. My best is the 20th 
Anniversary Mac, still on the internet with OS9 after all these years.
