Hi I was fitting some RAM in my latest TiBook, taking out the 2x256MB sticks and popping in 2x512MB sticks.
The 256MB sticks fitted in well, the arms on the RAM slots fitted very well. However, the little holes in the 512MB sticks where the arms clasp it and in a slightly different place. Ive used these 512MB sticks in other TiBooks and not noticed this. Whilst fitting the 512MB sticks and trying to get the arms to grip the sticks I snapped the plastic part of the arms, and the RAM in the top slot will not hold down. Somehow I managed to get it down, by bending in what was left of the broken RAM arm and it seems to be holding. Has anyone else had this happen. I've fitted RAM in loads of TiBook and other PowerBooks/iBooks and never had this before. I dont intend on delving under the keyboard for anything so for now everything is fine. If it pops up I will have to make some kind of make shift plastic bar to keep the RAM in place.
