Brilliant. Solution to opening (and recovering) Excel workbook data was opening the workbook from within the icExcel demo application. All data recovered. One minor glitch: formatting was lost, but no harm done. I will buy icExcel.

I must assume that the particular workbook was corrupted seen as all other Excel documents are working just fine.

Have you tried "icexcel".? There is a free trial download. I bought it, and it has always opened every spreadsheet. I also have "icword". When it can't open something, it does tell you what the problem is. Once you open it, save to another format. Go to www.icexcel.com Hope this helps.
