Probably I am wrong, and if so I am sure you will soon disabuse me of my mislpaced confidence. I've no antivirus at all, just the Panther Firewall, but of course we have File Sharing on all the time, because of the home network. I turned off Guest Access by using a little program called XGuest. Is this living dangerously?
Actually, this is living rather prudently...you turned off Guest access, you're running a firewall, and you're behind an NAT. that's pretty much what security you need.

OK. Good to know. I like to live prudently when it comes to our three computers and the thousands of work hours tucked inside.
Of course we also do daily backups, but it's nice to know we are (fingers crossed) reasonably safe as it is...

- just another quick question: anyone knows of a nice database program with a nice OS X interface? The Apple website has some inviting screenshots of Filemaker 7 that seemed to suggest this version was going to be more OS X-like. I downloaded the trial and it looks exactly like FIlemaker 6, i.e. a classic application hurriedly ported to OS X. I've looked around but I don't seem to find anything that looks good and delivers the goods. Any suggestions?
