I would recommend against WD drives, Slow, noisy, and
unreliable IMHO. Go with an IBM 60 
GXP or Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 60, $138 + $8 shipping

Almost all drives ship with the jumpers in the
"master" setting. Use IDE bus 0 (the one furthest away
from the processor), and just leave the jumper in
place
