Sure, because OS X is supporting the mobos by directly programming the 
various chips, not by going through the ROM.

Going through the ROM is pretty much OS independent. Directly programming is 
not OS independent.

This is but one reason why there is no need for a ROM RIMM upgrade to support 
Master and Slaves on 233 and 266 Beige G3s.
