I'm still using 9.2.1.

Most apps are still not OSX compatible, and many of the old peripherals,
Wacom tablet, SCSI zip drive, etc. will never be. So until these bite the
dust and/or budget allows, there's no OSX.

The only app I have that I use that's OSX compatible is Photoshop 7, still
shrink-wrapped in the box. I'm just learning to use Pshop 6! We'll install
7 as soon as time for learning allows. I'm still on a curve from buying
the G4 and getting everything working on that.

All the other apps, Dreamweaver, Eudora, Quark, MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
are only 9 savvy. The other trouble is I don't plan to upgrade the MS products
or the Quark because I don't use them enough to warrant it at all. (I'm going
to switch to Appleworks for the MS uses.)

A real biggie for me: I felt like I knew the Mac OS inside out, but I know
nothing
about Unix. Not that I have to, but evidently I can't even make a backup CD of
everything in case of a complete Hard Drive failure, because there are hidden
files I can't copy. I'm not sure if I install programs what parts are
where, yet.
I don't understand maintenance; I don't know where my files are; what are
Libraries???

I'm sure once I've had the time to sit down and learn everything OSX will
rock. This will take a while though, with steady P/T work and a 4 year old.
